Purpose of loan: This loan will be used to?purchase a new digital Kirlian camera for my acupuncture/colorpuncture practice. I am an acupuncture physician with a successful 12 year private practice. I treat mainly adults with chronic illness or chronic pain. In the last 9 months I have trained in Switzerland to treat children in colorpuncture. This involves the placement of colored light on acupuncture points. This would be a lovely addition to my practice. I have used a Kirlian camera (for diagnostic purposes and preventative care) that required film development for the last 8 years. This requires a dark treatment room which can be scary for kids and difficult for the elderly or gait impaired patients My developer has quit working and this is a wonderful opportunity to buy a cutting edge digital camera that hooks into a computer and alleviates film development and allows me to lighten my treatment room. In addition, this will really help better my diagnostic skills (while not polluting the Earth with chemicals) and I am passionate about giving my patients the best possible care. My financial situation: I am a good candidate for this loan because?I am financially stable and responsible. I pay all of my bills on time. I am surprised at the number of credit cards I have. I guess cutting the cards up and mailing them back with a note no longer works! I have balances on 2 cards. One balance is close to $10,000 at 8.5% anf the other balance is $100 at 0% (This will be paid and closed this month.). The remaining amount listed is a joint card that I share with my husband. I had a bankruptcy discharged in March of 1999. I was into my third year of private practice and I was a new single mother with little to no support. My credit was perfect prior to this and has been perfect since. My credit union approved a computer for their maximun limit ($4,000) until we realized that they only cover loans for personal computers. I remembered Prosper and I am excited to borrow and eventually loan in a win/win situation. I listed this loan a few days ago. A friend has since offered to loan $5,000 at 10% ($161.34 a month for 3 years). I have freed up $1,000 for the camera. My Kirlian camera is on the market for $5,000.
