I am a self-employeed small business owner. I have owned my own retail store for 19 years and about a two and a half years ago started an ebay consignment store in conjunction with my retail store. After about six months I realized that I could do much better selling my own items rather than trying to unload other people's junk. Within months I then attained powerseller status and my ebay business has been growing steadily. I currently have about 2800 items listed with the majority being smaller gift items (webkinz, shining stars, ty beanie babies, blankets, inspirational and religious items) and also many larger items (ashley table lamps, sofa, recliners and other furniture). Last holiday season was very good for me and I shipped out an average of 100 items a day. I have spent the past year streamlining my operations and building up my inventory. I used my first loan from prosper to help acheive it and will use the proceeds of this loan to immediately pay in full the balance of my first loan. My current plan of action is to develop other online sales venues. Specifically I want to have my own retail website developed. I currently have a fairly large following and would like to start converting my sales off ebay (that way I won't have to pay listing fees & commissions). I am a member of the Internet Mechants Association (IMA) and have attended several of their conferences on internet marketing & sales. I am also a member of PeSA (Professional Ebay Sellers Alliance). I maintain a 99.9% positive feedback rating on ebay with over 12,000 total feedbacks received and only 7 negative feedbacks. I strive to provide excellent customer service and take my business very seriously. This loan will help fund the development of my own website and also provide some needed capital to acquire additional inventory. My debt to income ratio is a little high because Propser does not let me include my wifes income for the loan request although she is on all of our bank loans. In addition to our retail store and ebay business, My wife and I also own a duplex, triplex, and 4 rental homes. I am very active in my local community and have been a volunteer firefighter for over 14 years and also am an active member of our church. I appreciate the time you have taken to review and consider my loan request and would be happy to answer any questions you may have or if you are interested in viewing my ebay store please search for seller: myauctionsource. |
