Hi there. I've got a master's in math from NYU, and about 10 years of experience being a programmer. Right now I do consulting work as a web developer, and I also started my own web company with my friends, creating social internet applications. We are aiming to raise some venture capital in the next several months. I would like to have a safety buffer for my business, following the adage, "it is better to borrow money when you don't need it." I'm not in any money trouble and I don't really NEED a loan. I'm actually doing quite well. It should also improve my credit history even more. Back when I was at NYU, with my measly $20,000 a year stipend, I have always paid my credit cards on time and that earned me a good credit score. Now it's even higher -- around 721 on Experian, (741 and 765 on TransUnion and Equifax) ... because I make sure to be very responsible with my credit, always make payments on time, and so forth.
