Purpose of loan: This loan will be to buy an engagement ring. My financial situation: I have been a graduate student at Harvard for the past 7 years, receiving my PhD in Medical Sciences, and I earn appx. $30,000 a year as a stipend. However, I will be graduating in a month and I am starting a new job at a top management consulting firm where I will be making appx $120,000 a year. I am looking to get a jump start on my new life and buy an engagement ring for my long-time girlfriend. I'm hoping everyone out there can help me! I am a good candidate for this loan because I think I am a very low risk loan. With my new job making the loan payments will not be a problem. Unfortunately my credit score is not as good as I would like it to be due to a lot of credit card use during graduate school, which is a major reason I am looking to the Prosper community to help out instead of a traditional bank. Monthly net income: $ 2100 (increasing to appx $6000 in one month). Monthly expenses: $ 1780 Housing: $750 Utilities: $50 Phone, cable, internet: $130 Food, entertainment: $ 400 Clothing, household expenses $ 50 Credit cards and other loans: $400 Even within this budget I have enough left to make my monthly payments on this loan, and after my new job starts I will have more than enough.
