Purpose of loan: -First of all, I think I should clarify that one of my previous listings was withdrawn after being fully funded due to my inexperience with the site at that time, and a misunderstanding of what actually happens after a loan is funded. Nothing happened to make me reject or refuse the loan, I simply misunderstood the process of receiving funds. Since then I have learned a bit more about the site, and determined a more appropriate amount for my listings. This loan will be used to pay off some very high interest credit card debt I racked up in my early 20s, I have additionally added in some extra money to further consolidate debt by including the remaining balance of my car loan. By doing this, I will only have one monthly loan/ credit card payment instead of 3 or more. This loan is very important for me to begin a post-graduate school life, teaching college students about art, and hopefully traveling the world. My financial situation: I am a particularly good candidate for this loan because I learned the hazards of debt at an early age. Now, after all these years of paying credit card companies thousands of dollars and not seeing a reduction in balance, I am at a point in my life where I can make a difference. Prosper is a big part of that plan. I hope to be debt free by the time I reach 30, which is in about 3 years. While my income has been low the past few years, due to my full-time status as a graduate student, I will soon be employed as an educator, and will be able to pay of debt and plan for my future. My biggest issue with debt is the variable interest rate I currently have on my highest balance credit card, which bounces between 24% and 28% monthly. This loan is critical to my future as a teacher and as a bringer of culture to the lives of college students. I hope that this loan will be fully funded, and I can begin the next stage of my life with optimism and a bright outlook. Thanks for your consideration.
