Purpose of loan: Dear Prosper Lenders ? This is my second Prosper Loan. The first loan has helped out tremendously as I am a single mother of 2 children. As I indicated in my first Prosper listing I had a good credit rating until several years ? I was part of a lay off and I still had bills, credit cards, medical payments, and in school. I am now in a much more stable situation. I am now looking to purchase Hearing Aids for my oldest son who is wearing Analog Hearing Aids which are almost 6 years old. Here is the background - he had been diagnosed with sever to profound hearing loss in both ears at the age of 3 years old. He is 15 years old and goes to a public High School in which he takes all regular (non special education) grade appropriate classes. He has an Interpreter for each class (sign language) and reads lips very well. He has an overall GPA of 3.1 which all of his teacher have stated is very good. He runs track and is on the football team. His one downfall is the background noise the programmable hearing aids has caused and the quality of sound on the hearing aids are muffled. Digitial hearing aids would provide him reduced feedback, background noise reduction, and Digital Speech Enhancement (DSE). which acts to increase the relative intensity of some segments of speech, and with a more clear noise. I have been told by the Audiologist that Digital Hearing Aids would benefit him greatly and would be able to concentrate more on the teacher and less on the Interpreter and could increase his speach intelligibility.The issue with purchasing a Hearing Aid is most insurance carriers will not cover the cost (including mine - AETNA). This leaves me to purchase the hearing aid out right. Due to the cost of the aid I am requesting a second loan through the help of the Prosper lenders. Please keep in mind Hearing Aids are sold individually and must be programmed by an audiologist for my child?s specific level of hearing lossMy financial situation: Hearing Aid Information and Cost: Sonic Innovations Balance Hearing Aids Benefits: Environment-Based Programming, Hybrid Noise Reduction, Feedback Cancellation Cost per Hearing Aid is: $2749 each = $5,498.00 for both. ( I have around $500 that I can put towards the initial payment) Monthly Income (verifiable) Monthly Net Salary: $3260.00 (bi weekly $1630) Child Support: $480.00 Total Monthly Income $3740.00 My monthly budget: Mortgage/rent: $ 750 Insurance: $97 Car expenses: $450 Utilities: $250 Phone, cable, internet: $100 Food, entertainment: $200 Clothing, household expenses $150 Missouri 529 College Savings Plan (children's college plan): $150 Monthly expenses: $2197.00 Credit cards and other loan payments: Credit Card / Bank Card: $150 1st Prosper Payment: $314.29 Monthly Debt Payment $464.29 I have an additional source of income around $1,000.00. I have found that part of this money either goes directly to savings or additional medical/dental payments. This is still more than enough to pay a monthly loan to ensure my child?s future is full of joyful sounds. Please feel free to ask me any questions. |
