Hello Everyone, How do I start? I accumulated exactly $4687.13 in debt in my Discover Card throughout my college years. I was alone and no one supported be going to school. When I needed money for books or things I need for school (ie laptop etc) I had to use this card. It's hard for me sometimes that I thought of dropping out but I decided that it will work out in the end, after you graduate all the loans and debt I accumulated will be paid in time. However I found myself trying to find job after I graduated. I'm a Graphic Designer and in the area I live in (Silicon Valley) its very competitive. I was strap for cash and I was behind with the rent and the other bills that I decided to consult the help of Debt Settlement USA (DSUSA). It was fine for a couple of months. They were actually helping me settle an amount that is ok with my finances. But I got a call from Discover recently and told me a collection agency will file litigation on me and if I don't come up with the money in full. They told me if I have another credit card maybe I can balance transfer it so that my Discover is paid off. What! the last thing I need is another card! I called DSUSA and they told me they will try to negotiate but they always say this. I guess its time for me to pay it off. I know if I can pay it installment I will be fine but Discover is not having it. I know its no excuse for me to be irresponsible and the let the incur interests accumulate throughout that time but all I need is 2nd chance. I finally got a job working as a System Adminstrator (IT) / Webmaster for a company and with the bills and the rent I can't afford to pay off this debt in full. My credit is not that good and its hard for me to focus on my career with this monkey in the back. The uncertainties of my future is always in my mind. All I need is a 2nd chance. A Fresh Start.
