Purpose of loan: I am interested in the Prosper way and wanted to start with a minimal loan to get first hand experience with how the process works. About Me: I am a civil service employee who enjoys strong job security in these rough economic times. I want to use my security and free cash for investments to help out others in the community who may not be so lucky. Before I can do that I want to have a good grasp on how Prosper works. In a nutshell just an average joe who lives very a modest lifestyle. My financial situation: $5280 income after taxes and deductions (monthly) - 1450 rent and parking - 500 utilities, groceries, household expenses - 600 entertainment, meals out, and other spending ===== $2,730 left over for discretionary spending. I have over $15,000 saved in emergency funds and over $130,000 in liquid investments outside of my retirement accounts. I am debt free aside from my monthly credit card charges which average $1300 per month and are always paid in full each month. The current delinquency on my credit report is one that is in dispute. The 5 delinquencies in the past 7 years are a result from a highly transient time in my life when I was working with the military and later having moved cross country caused me to miss an occasional payment. I have long since settled down in lovely southern cal and make all my payments on time. |
