Hello & thank you for considering my loan request.

I am a Title 1 teacher working with children who are struggling readers. I started off as a Special Ed Paraprofessional and worked my way up to my current position. I have lots of time invested in what I do, going to every educational seminar that I can to learn more on how to best help educate children in our society. I love encouraging children to achieve their best. With my own money I purchase incentives (books, stickers, pencils, etc.) for the children as a reward for their hard work. Eventually, I would love to become a full time teacher.

My husband and I have been happily married for 20 years. He has worked as a foreman for the local Illinois Public Works Department near our town in Indiana for the past 13 years. As the parents of two beautiful daughters, we are particularly proud of their accomplishments. Our oldest is a junior at Purdue University majoring in Elementary Education while working fulltime, and our youngest is a straight A student in 7th grade, having won numerous awards in school, including awards in both poetry and writing. She was one of only 6 children out of 377 to be chosen to take a high school foreign language class next year. I am very active in my youngest daughter?s school and both my husband and I volunteer a great deal with our church.

My husband and I had wanted to buy a house for a long time. We made sure we were financially ready before making such a huge commitment. When the time came after searching for over a year, we found our dream house. After living in it for only 4 months our town and neighboring communities had a 300 year rain and everything flooded. It was devastating. We decided to just redo everything, gutting the downstairs and remodel the upstairs. As our town has never had a flood before we felt safe rebuilding as this was a once in a lifetime event. Our house is completed and beautiful again, so now we can concentrate on getting our finances in order by consolidating all our debt into one monthly payment. Knowing that this loan will be repaid in 3 years we can start saving for our younger daughter?s college (she wants to attend Notre Dame) and I would love to someday finish my college education and obtain my teaching degree.

If I am fortunate to be funded through Prosper, the money will be used to consolidate credit cards and a loan.

Credit Cards & Loan to Payoff:
Visa: $ 7,100 @ 27.99%
Home Improvement Store: $ 1,500 @ 21.99%
MasterCard: 5,000 @ 21%
Loan: $ 9,000 @ 24.99%
Department Store: 1,400.00 @ 21.00%

Prosper Loan Requested: $24,000

Monthly Net Income: I earn $976/mo. net and my husband makes $3,324 monthly, for a combined total of $4,300.

DTI Explained: My Debt to Income Ratio is listed as extremely high because I am only able to list my own income from my teaching position and cannot include my husband?s salary, which is the major source of income in our family.

Monthly Expenses BEFORE PROSPER Loan: $3,726
Housing: $1,370
Insurance: $77
Car expenses: 370
Utilities: $ 175
Phone, cable, internet: $125
Food, entertainment: $400
Credit cards & other loans: 1,109
Clothing & gas: $100

Monthly Expenses AFTER PROSPER Loan: $2,626

As you can see, I will have over $1,674 left with which to pay my Prosper loan.

Our finances are important to us and I always make our monthly payments on time. The payments for this Prosper loan will come directly out of my account, and I promise that is something you will never have to worry about. I have never bounced a check in all the years I have been writing them, which is 25 years. My credit score is an A and I would like to get it up to an AA credit grade.

Thank you for your help.
