I would like to thank anyone that even considers loaning money to me. It is something that I cherish and will appreciate. I will not let you down.

This will be my second loan through Prosper.com. The first loan was for $1000.00 for a new computer for me. I took this loan out in December 2006. I wanted to prove to the Prosper community that I am trust worthy and looking to do no further harm to my credit.  This loan will be paid off using the prosper payment schedule for 3 years.

At the time of my last loan, my credit score had hit its all time low, 560. Ten months later and I am on the right track towards my improvement goals. At last check, my credit score was 615 (per TransUnion, although Prosper puts me lower) and still rising. The reason my credit continues to suffer is because of high balances on the high-interest credit cards.

My financial situation:
My credit has always been important to me. In August 2004, I married my high-school sweetheart of 7 years. Our credit was great and we purchased a new car for her as well as new furniture and a new TV for our new apartment. Six months later I found out my wife had been dishonest with me and unfaithful. We were divorced in October 2005. She ended up keeping the car that my name still remains on to this day. The vehicle that remains on my credit that she took is paid late nearly every month, but she refuses to refinance the car to get my name off the loan and save my credit. The car is not paid late enough, however, where it is reported.

Since the divorce, I have been working on rebuilding my credit and my life, and unfortunately I ended up building up a lot of high interest credit card debt.

I close on my first house in April 2008. By eliminating this debt, I am opening myself and my credit up to further opportunities.

Purpose of loan:
The purpose of this loan is clear. It is to pay off some left-over high-interest credit card debt that is holding me back from continuing to improve on my credit score. I would also like to finish my payments on an engagement ring that I purchased for my girlfriend of just over one year. We have lived together for over a year and had bills in our names for the same period of time. In the State of Texas we are legally married, but became engaged "officially" in December 2007.
