Seven years ago, my family entered a period of great tragedy. In the space of a year, we endured two seperate murders. Out of this time came the best thing thats ever happened to me...my son. He is my nephew by birth, but at the age of four he came to live with me after his parents were arrested and sent away, and I have since adopted him. Back then he was a very damaged little boy, so I left my job and moved in with my Mother in an effort to give him the stability he needed. I eventually got a part time job, but the focus of my life was this little boy. I earned very little for the next five years and relied heavily on credit cards to fill the gaps. It is to pay off some of this debt that I'm requesting a loan. I make alot more money, and in addtion to the money from my 2005 tax return that I've listed as my income, I have other income that isn't listed. I receive $705 a month from the state Adoption Assistance Program which is not taxed, and also earn $195 from a second part time job. I'm also doing freelance work that earns me $600 a month. I think this combined income shows I can afford a payment, and even though my credit grade is not good, I have a good payment history and can be relied upon to make my payments. I'm now trying to plan a future for my son and I that doesn't revolve around just trying to keep out heads above water. I would like to pay my bills in a manner that is saner than the mess I have now, but that requires that someone look past the numbers on the page and see the person and the choices I've made. Years ago our lives were wrecked. I'd like to make sure that doesn't remain a permanent thing, but I need some help. |
