I am looking to Prosper to help consolidate credit card debt I accrued in college. Like so many others, I was naive when it came to opening accounts and establishing debt. I can openly admit I made mistakes with my spending and am now paying the price for them. I am currently a professional working in the mental health field. I have a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology. In the state of Florida, the human services field is tremendously under funded. My job is very rewarding personally, but unfortunately, does not pay well. When I graduated college, I was hopeful that I would find a high paying job in my field which would allow me to pay off much of this debt. During graduate school I was unable to complete my coursework and all necessary internship hours and work full time. I used my credit cards for major expenses and at times, to live on. Although my debt to income ratio is very high, I have never made a late payment. I have been counseled by others to file for bankruptcy or use a credit counseling service. I feel this debt is my responsibility and I plan to take care of it myself. It seems Prosper is the most manageable and realistic way to help me do that. I realize that my high debt/inc. ratio may scare off many bidders. I am currently living with family and have minimal monthly expenses, so please be assured payment will be made. I spend my days helping others make positive changes in their lives. I am hoping that Prosper can now help me do the same. Thank you for looking and for your consideration |
