Hi, I am 26 year old filmmaker from Florida. I am also a US Army Veteran, I got out in 2005. It was actually my desire to make movies that prompted me to join the military. I did it primarily so that I could get out and use the GI Bill to pay for film school. So now here I am at film school, at long last. First off, I love making movies. It's been my dream since I was 18 and it's the perfect fit for me. I love what I do and I am good at it, if I do say so myself. I am studying at the International Academy of Film and Television. A classmate of mine has a blog on their site and he wrote about me on some of his posts. http://filmschool.ph/blog/?p=21#more-21 Here is the reason I need a loan to continue on with my education here. This school has yet to be accredited and recognized by the Veteran's Administration. That means that I can't collect my benefits from the GI Bill. The whole reason I went in. Also, I am a disabled veteran, but only 10% and you need to be 20% to be eligible for vocational rehabilitation, in which the VA pays for everything. I have enough money to live or to go to school, but without my GI Bill benefits, I can't do both. This is my dream. I want to make great movies. This is something I am so passionate about that I enlisted in the Army and went to war, all so I could go to film school and subsequently make awesome movies. Please help me make this dream as real as it should be. |
