Purpose of loan: This loan will be used to refinance a high interest (almost 20%) card. We simply aren't making headway paying it off at the current rate. The balance is about $18g. We will apply about $3g cash and the rest will go into the Prosper loan. My financial situation: I have a stable job, coming up on my 10 year anniversary at one of the oldest companies in the US, currently doing interactive marketing and strategic analysis. Earlier this year my wife graduated Summa Cum Laude with a business degree and was recently accepted into a fast track management training program at a top 3 insurer. She worked part time over the past 8 years for this insurance company while focusing on being home for our children. She will finish her current (full time) training and move on to a new position in about 2 years. We own our home (30 fixed mortgage) in a quiet mid-Western suburb. No car payments. Heavier consumer debt than we would like and we're in a position to start buying it down. Thanks for your interest! |
