We Just expanded our computer company and the response has been very good. We have never taken out a loan for our business before and we have grown slowly but steadily without the overhead of a loan to pay. We have the opportunity to make some large sales at a local college but it requires we have stock to sell as a point of sale item. Usually our clients order their parts or upgrades and we order them after they prepay. Their items/service are delivered in 2-5 days depending on shipping. A local college has invited us to set up a stand and their school to help new students with their computers as they come back to school. They have given us permission to sell modems, networking equipment, usb memory sticks, as well as hardware they might need for computer upgrades. The catch to this is we can?t take their money and order a part we have to be able to deliver the items when they are purchased. If this goes well it might be a standing invitation for this school and allow us to be a permanent third party vendor for their students computer needs. We put together a list of the items we want to have on hand and checked what we have in stock already and have purchased what we can afford to purchase. The rest of the items we want to have on hand total $4378.00 and we have budgeted to add another 628.00 to it over the next 2 weeks. The loan amount is to cover the difference and help us insure this venture is a successful as it can be. We originally Joined Prosper as an investment opportunity, but now we have a chance to try it out as a borrower and get a jump start on the largest client we have had in the 10 years since we started this in our basement! |
