Purpose of loan: This loan will be used to consolidate my credit card debt. I tried borrowing money in the past so that I could start a computer business and never got it so I got as many credit cards as possible to fund it. Well basically I could not get enough money to get all the signage etc. so I had to go with a less expensive location. I was only grossing about $1100 a month with business expenses alone being about $800. I was not making enough to cover my personal expenses so I had to close my doors and get a job. I now work at Geek Squad so that I can pay off the debt from my business that I put on credit cards which are mostly at 29.99% interest and charge monthly maintenance fees of $6-$10. It was hard for me to walk away from my dream but I was underfunded and that is a big problem. I had better hours, more friendly service, and the quickest turn around out of anyone in town, I just didn't have the best location or financial backing to advertise. I had to go 100% from word of mouth and people just driving by and seeing the sign. In a few years when my credit is good and I can borrow $10-15,000 it will work out a lot better but for now I am just going to continue learning and growing as a person and hope for the best. My financial situation: The whole time while I had my business I was never late on any bills. The 1 and only account I have ever been late on was the one that shows as delinquent and it is being taken care of but they will not take it off of my credit report until it is completly paid off. I have about $3500 to go which was up to $5500 with fees and other charges because it is in collections. That account was a lease that was suppose to be cancelable but ended up having some funny wording so I could not cancel it so now i'm stuck paying it. As frustrated as I am about the situation I grew up and I am paying it off even though I never even used the equipment I was leasing.
