Once upon a time, I was walking on my college campus when I was stopped by a man in a suit. He said, "Young woman, would you like to be in charge of your own financial future?" I replied, "Yes, sir. That would be lovely! But how? I'm only a kid." He responded, "Don't fret! Sign here! And here's a free T-shirt for your time!" Now, many years later, that memory sends shivers down my back. "[In] charge of [my] own financial future!" What a joke! If only I took another route to my class that day. *sigh* My experience has been horribly life-altering. I take full responsibility for the debt I have accrued. As such, I take full responsibility for trying to alter my seemingly depressed and financially defunct fate. I have researched many debt consolidation ideas and trends. First step, I consolidated my student loans. Yay! Second step, I consolidated other debts through my personal bank with a fixed rate loan and am current and will pay it off before the 5 years are up. Yay! Now, I want to consolidate my two remaining credit cards and be done with them once and for all. Yay! Since I am ready to take this next step to financial independence, I have come across this wonder of the internet world and have decided to continue on my path to regaining control of not only my financial life but indeed my whole life. As anyone in debt can attest to this fact, having out-of-control debt ruins every aspect of your life. Monthly net income: $ 2,500 Monthly expenses: $ 2,005 Housing: $ 745 Car expenses: $ 100 Utilities: $ 150 Phone, cable, internet: $ 125 Food, entertainment: $ 300 Other expenses $ 100 Credit cards and other loans: $ 325 Student loans: $ 160 With this loan in place and my budgeting set up as it is, I will finally be able to start saving for a newish car!!! |
