Special needs son medical bills

Hi we are looking for loan to get out of medical bill misery....We have filed bakrupt once, in 2003 due to the birth of a son with medical compliactions during pregnancy and then soon after his birth a diagnosis if trisomy 21 (down syndrome) We filed bankrupt due to overwhelming uncovered medical bills and the inability to get ahead on my husbands salary or 36 thousand a year.Although the 36 thousand was too much to keep us from getting medicaid it was not enough to pay the medical and other expenses incurred as a result of his diagnosis.My husband sought another job and we moved our family of 5 two thousand miles away to Arizona in the hopes of a fresh new financial start.Our son took sick again last year and the medical bills once agian have hit hard and our credit is being damaged agian.We pay our bills(rent car payments and other expenses on time every single month)we have been with the same rental agency for 3 years and have never been a day late. We have tried to make payment arrangements with the creditors however becasue the bills are so high to satisfy all of them it would be 11 hundred dollars a month.We cant afford that we can afford up to 436 a month.....We have applied for loans but due to the fact we have a prior BK and now medical bills are hittign agian we just cant get anyone to extend us credit.One very good thing that has happened recently(in april of this year) Our son was finally approved for long term medical care which includes insurance.We will never have another unpaid medical bill for him again.,He will remain on long term care and the threat of medical bills further ruiuning our credit has finally come to a stop.If we can get the funds we need to pay off the creditors that have hit our credit agian and some that will soon hit then we can get well on our way to finaicail freedom...Then perhaps I will be the one sitting here reading a story and have the funds avaialbale to help someone in my shoes.When we filed our BK 90% of that was medical bills(although we did have credit cards, (we used them for food and supplies) we have never used credit cards to buy things we dont need(such as atvs or play toys or anything like that)We feel very unfortunate that the fact our son needed medical attention is ruiing our credit and keeping us from owning a home.........Thanks for reading our story. |
