Eric's Credit Community

The Person: I'm from West Markham, Illinois but I have lived in various areas of North and South America throughout my life. I moved back to Rochester, New York this recent July to primarily to live there?secondary, to re-attend the Rochester Institute of Technology as a Computer Science major. It's been a good year more or less, especially for my first time living completely on my own. I will confess that it has been difficult juggling school, work and play but I will also confess that I have been happier than I have been in years.

The Credit Grade: First of all my credit grade is HR because of two reasons that I have found:

1. My credit history is short (started ~2 years ago when I was 18).

2. The few credit cards that I have are highly utilized (books are expensive).

But there is one good factor:

1. I have no delinquencies at all.

The Income: I freelance as a web developer, assist as a systems administrator, I am an author, I am a custodian, I help my family with their electrical business when I?m home during my free summers and lastly, because my father fought?and was wounded?in Vietnam I get Social Security Benefits. This nets me around $20,000 on a bad year.

The Outcome: I have a bill from RIT for $1300 that I?d like paid off. I have $1,300 in credit that I would like gone as well. I owe an understanding gentleman $1000 which he lent to me in when I was in a tight spot. I?d like to pay off my previous prosper loan. I will use the rest of the money to visit and help my grandmother who has hit hard times. If there?s anything left after that I?ll save it for the emergencies that are sure to pop up along the way.
