Purpose of loan: After two and a half years, I would like to finally propose to a wonderful young lady who has turned my life around. Although it's true I made some irresponsible financial decisions in the past right out of college, being involved with this lady has helped me put my priorities in perspective, and it has made all the difference in my financial situation. For once I am actually successfully planning for the future, especially now there's someone else to consider. My financial situation: Over the past three years, I have gone from being a careless spender to a budget-conscious, thrifty individual. Since that time, I have completely paid down and canceled two credit cards and will have my last outstanding balance paid off in two months. I also started a good job in Chicago six months ago, and for the first time in my life, I am not living from paycheck to paycheck, even after finishing my Christmas shopping! Being able to take public transportation daily has also allowed me to cut out any auto expenses. Of my other bills and obligations, I make sure these automatically come out of my account at the beginning of the month, and I haven't missed a single payment in months. In addition, other than student loans, I am just a few months away from being completely debt-free and have even managed to set up a couple investment accounts to which I pay regularly. Signing up for this process brought to light some items in my report of which I was not aware, and I will look to investigate and rectify these. In the meantime, I am looking to purchase a nice wedding/engagement ring set in the near future, so that we can begin planning for this summer when we plan to be married. Monthly net income: $ 2800 Monthly expenses: $ Housing: $ 775 Church: $ 375 Utilities: $ 50 Phone, cable, internet: $ 100 Food, entertainment: $ 150 Investments/savings: $ 200 Credit cards and other loans: $ 300 (includes student loans) There are other accounts I fund on a monthly basis using an envelope method to provide for upcoming expenses. If you would like to see a more in-depth breakdown, please ask me. |
