Purpose of loan:
I am looking to consolidate a number of credit cards that have high interest rates. Once I pay off these cards I am going to cut them up and only leave one for emergencies.
A little background about me:
I am a very caring and devoted wife and mother.  I am committed to any project or endeavor I am involved in, and my word is gold.  I made some mistakes in my early 20-30's.  I am now in my 40's and for the past 11 years have been cleaning up my act.  For seven years I was a single mother on welfare and one day said "ENOUGH", my son and I deserve a better life.  I went back to school, took computer classes and landed a goverment job starting at $12.00 an hour. Over 11 years later I have promoted to a IT Helpdesk Supervisor and make $32.00 an hour with retirement and health benefits. You may wonder why I am telling you all of this, I want you to see that when I am determined to make a change I DO!!  I am now determined to be debt free in the next 5 years, except for our house payment.  I know to do that I have to pay off my credit cards, stop using them, and begin saving.  That is what I am planning on doing now and hope you will take a chance on me.  I will pay back every penny of this loan.  I will never be late!!
My financial situation:

I am a good candidate for this loan because I always pay my bills on timeI have no DQ's, no public records, and even though I am paying high interest rates I still pay more than the minimum balance on all my credit cards.  Even though I am doing this I see that it will take me years to pay off the balances. I would rather pay them all off, pay one lump loan sum, and start paying with cash.  The reason I have 4 inquiries in the last 6 months is because I have been looking at consolidating with other banks and they say I have too much credit and my balances are too high.

Monthly net income: $ 3,600 (mine only) Husband $2,000 (not being considered in loan request)

Monthly expenses: $ $3,340 (still have $170.00 a month, plus $2,000 from husband's income)
  Housing: $ 1,100
  Insurance: $ Car - 65.00/HomeOwners-$75.00/Health -100% covered by work
Car expenses: $ Gas - $120.00 (both cars are paid off)
  Utilities: $ $220.00
  Phone, cable, internet: $ $150.00
  Food, entertainment: $ Groceries - $500.00 - Entertainment -$150.00
  Clothing, household expenses $ $150.00
Credit cards and other loans: $ 900.00 (this will be erased with prosper loan)

I also have a $250,000 life insurance policy that is to be used to pay off all our bills if something should happen to me.  This would include this loan.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
