Recent listing just expired with insufficient loans to cover the original requested amount. I am reposting this for a lower loan amount - $10K vice $17K. I hope this will make some folks reconsider. $10K will still help me take a big chunk out of my AMEX debt and be in a position to wipe it clean. Thanks for your consideration! I am an active duty O-4 in the Navy. I have been in the Navy for 17 years and plan to stay in for at least 10 more years. My base pay as an O-4 with 17 years of service is over $86K a year and will only go up over the next couple of years as I get promoted to O-5 in 2008. I am finishing up a sea tour as an Executive Officer on a Norfolk-based ship, just returned from a six-month Arabian Gulf Deployment in May, and am transferring to "shore duty" in October for 3 years.I am seeking a loan to pay off an old AMEX debt that I have been carrying for several years. The debt was accrued in a previous marriage gone bad. AMEX is charging me 29.99% which makes my MINIMUM monthly payment $524.00 a month - just to pay the interest! I am been chipping away at it VERY slowly and am ready to knock it out (with a little help from the generous lenders of Prosper:)) I am hoping to secure a prosper loan which will allow me to erase this debt in 3 years and drastically reduce my debt to income ratio.Virginia law dictates the max interest at 11.75%, so I don't expect anything lower than that (anything is better than the 30% I am paying now!!) I realize $17K is a lot for this forum, but it would really help me a lot to fund the entirety of my AMEX debt and you'd be doing a Sailor a huge favor!! I have selected automatic funding to lock in the max rate I can ask for in Virginia - 11.75%. |
