Purpose of loan: To pay off half of my car loan for a 2006 Dodge Charger. My husband and I purchased the car in Feb 2005 right after we got married. Our credit scores were 585 and 615 so Chrysler Financial gave us a loan with horrible interest. We ended up with 19.9% apr and a payment of $793.42 monthly. We have payed 22 months on time out of 72 due. I'm tired of giving all this interest money to them and if you give us a chance you will not be dissappointed. This is my 2nd prosper loan. I paid off the last one in 2 months. Why the higher interest rate? I've already paid chrysler $9,820.24 interest alone. If I keep the loan I will be paying them $10,406.68 more interest. If I refinance $10,000 of the loan at 22% I will pay prosper lenders $3,748.63 in interest, plus the loan closing fee for $200. I will pay Chrysler $400 for the next 50 months giving them $5,715.09 in interest. So I'll save $642.96 I can sell the car if I get a good offer for it. I am listed as HR but my credit score is now 680 and my husband's is 647. My bankcard utilization is really around 73% but that won't show until they can update my score (only every 30 days). My financial situation: My husband is active duty Army until Oct. 2010 and he will be re-enlisting as soon as they offer a good bonus to him. He is currently deployed to Iraq and will stay there for another year. I am an Ebay Powerseller and a stay at home mom for our 14 month old daughter. My income is $450 monthly. Monthly Expenses: (Chrysler Financial car payment- $793.42 will be traded for Prosper $886.29 loan) USAA car payment 2005 honda civic hybrid- $332.54 Car Insurance- $198.43 Cell Phone- $27.65 (switched to pre-paid saved $$!) Rent- $150 (I live with my father and my husband is deployed) Credit Card- $194.50 Personal Loan- $198.06 Groceries- $185 Entertainment- $56 Gas- $45 (I have a hybrid) Chrysler Financial- $400 Total= $1,787.18 in monthly expenses before prosper loan Left over= $2,384.89 to pay prosper payment and save for emergencies I only use the car to pick up inventory to sell on ebay about once a week.
