Education:
J.D., Georgetown University Law Center (2006)
B.A., University of California, Santa Barbara (2003)

Career:
First-year Associate, Law firm

As a student working my way through undergrad and law school it was impossible to pay all of my expenses: tuition, housing, textbooks, etc. on my meager wages.  I was fortunate to obtain various scholarships, and the remaining expenses were covered through educational loans.

An unfortunate experience with a prior medical insurer dealt my credit rating a serious blow.  All at once my FICO score went from excellent to poor.  The result was that my current educational lender declined to extend further funds. For an entire semester I went without financing, searching for a lender who would be willing to cover my last year of law school.  I was fortunate that Georgetown was lenient about the delay in receiving tuition.  Not surprisingly, my other creditors were not so understanding.  I was barely able to cover rent and I fell behind on some of my payments, sending my credit further downward.  Eventually I was able to find a lender.  The loan covered my last year, but due to federal mandate, educational lenders may only provide funds for the nine months student are actually enrolled.  This means that all expenses incurred between my May graduation and my start date, of October 2nd, must be covered by me.

I am asking for the amount of $7,000.  This will cover monthly servicing payments through October, general expenses and housing for the summer, various costs associated with my studies for the California bar, moving expenses, and the security payment/1st month's rent I will need to pay for housing in my new location.

As referenced by the October start date, I have already obtained an entry position with a law firm here in California, which means that you can rest assured that there will be a steady paycheck coming in to service your loan.  Additionally, when taking into account all expected monthly expenses, including servicing of the Prosper loan and servicing of my educational loans, my monthly expenses come out to be around 30% of my monthly gross income.  Truly, there is no doubt that the funds will be available; the only question is whether I will be able to make it smoothly to that point.

I have worked very hard in my scholarly pursuits. I have diligently maintained part-time employment through high school, undergrad and law school. I take my responsibilities seriously and that means your money will be safe with me.
