Purpose of loan: As you can see from my listing, my credit score has improved by one full credit grade since my last Prosper loan. Though my previous loan was for only $1,000.00, paying it off over a six month period improved my credit bureau beacon scores by more than 50 points as well. By applying for a larger loan this time, and by paying it off over a six to twelve month period in a similar fashion, I look to improve my beacon scores by another 50 points or more, which will push me back into the 700+ range where I've been the vast majority of my life. My financial situation: My current C rating is due to bankruptcy in 2005 as a result of major surgury and no medical insurance. Since then, I've purchased a new home, hold a major credit card and have improved my credit score by more than 150 points through diligent use of TransUnion's True Credit service and through proper maintenance of my open credit lines. Monthly net income: $ 2,253.00 ($ 3,033 gross before taxes) Monthly expenses: $ 1,630.00 Mortgage: $ 722.00 Insurance: $ 75.00 Car expenses: $ 160.00 Utilities: $ 125.00 Phone, cable, internet: $ 70.00 Food, entertainment: $ 275.00 Clothing, household expenses $ 55.00 Credit cards and other loans: $ 148.00 Other expenses: $ 0.00 Net Disposable Monthly Income: $ 623.00 As you can see, I can easily afford this loan which you can verify by looking at my 0% bank card utilization. I do use my credit card on a regular basis as it earns me 3% cash back on most purchases, but I always make sure to pay it off within the grace period to keep my credit score as high as possible.
