Hello,I am a second time user of prosper.com. 

My fiance and I just arrived in LA.  She needed to have a revision rhinoplasty completed by one of the worlds best specialists.  All though we went there for cosmetic reasons, the doctor told us that he is billing the surgery as 90% functional. 

The original surgery was planned for 4 hrs, which would have cost us 16K$ (he charges by the hour).  We paid for this completely upfront.  However, on the day of our consult,one day before the surgery, he revised his estimate to 7 hrs, we came up with the additional $10k that day by borrowing money from my fiance's grandmother.  Then on the day of the surgery, the surgery ended up going 10 hrs, so now we need approximately another 8k to pay the doctors within 2 weeks. 

I was so pleased with prosper my first time around I thought it the best way to come up with additional money.  Since the total surgery costs 34k for the rhinoplasty and it will pretty much be billed as functional to insurance the company we are hoping to get a large part of the money back through her great insurance, United Healthcare.  We have 70% coverage for operations by physicians out of network.  Insurance companies however probably won't deem 34k as 'usual and customary' so we are not expecting a full refund of our money, but we are expecting a large % to be returned to us.  Since built our first home, we don't have a lot of cash.  I am IT manager for an insurance firm, and my fiance a pharma sales rep, so even if we don't get the expected money refunded by our insurance we will have no problem paying it (16% debt ratio, A credit rating)

We saw Dr. Nassif in LA.  He has been on Dr. 90210 and Discovery channel.
