Purpose of loan:
Clear up some medical bills, catch up on mortgage, pay off credit card, clear up some other debts

My financial situation:
I've got a good stable job, with a growing income, and just need to get ahead - I am only including my income, and the bills I pay. My wife pays the others

I feel like I?m sinking in quicksand, and could really use a hand.

I have a good job, and side business, but six months ago, I got hit with the ?perfect storm? of circumstances that have been creating a lot of stress and pressure for my family.

A month before my youngest son was scheduled for open heart surgery (which went very well, thank god) the company I work for changed hands. This led to a change in our health insurance plan. The upshot was that our ?out-of-pocket? expense which would have been about $400 under the old plan ended up in excess of $5,000 under the new plan.

Our co-pay for prescriptions, of which there are several very expensive ones went from under $100 per month to over $300.

The same week, I ended up having hernia surgery as well; not nearly as serious, but kept me out of work for a couple of weeks.

I called my mortgage company trying to get ahead of what I anticipated being a very tight situation ? they were cooperative, and permitted me to skip two payments. However, they then attempted to have me make those payments up with in six months, making my mortgage payment more than $1,000 higher than we budgeted.

Some other complications occurred, and my lender adjusted my payment downward, so I?m only paying about $700 per month over normal, but a chunk of that is ?junk? fees.

I want to get caught up with them, and be able to take care of things other than barely eking out the mortgage each month. I have some deferred maintenance on the family car, one credit card, owing about $1,000 that I?m behind on, and want to clear up.

And of course, I?d like to provide modest holiday gifts for my two sons.

Thank you.
