Need new car urgently! Also, help with a Pay Day Loan

Purpose of loan: Thank you for taking the time to read my profile...First off, I am in desperate need of a car. My transmission recently went out, and for the condition of the car, I was told to just junk it, that it wasn't worth putting that kind of money into it. For 5 weeks, my daughter has been getting up at 6:30 every morning and waking up her 1 year old daughter, so she can come pick me up and drive me to work. She then comes and picks me up at 4:00 every day. This is just about 2 hours a day for her and the baby to just be driving to get me where I need to be. She also works evenings, and I have the baby. Getting to the stores, the bank, everything is just becoming very overwhelming, to all of us! I have been a struggling single mother for some time, and have had some medical issues to tend to with my other daughter for a while. Although they are no longer living with me, the ramifications are still coming strong. I recently found a great little house to rent, where I can get myself situated and get some things in order, but I really need a hand. When I moved in here in August, because my credit is low, I had to pay 3 months security, plus 1 months rent. There were also some old utility bills on my credit report that had to be paid before I could get service. (So, although my credit score is very low, I have paid off about $2000 in old debt since I moved in, because I had to! I have pay off letters!) This was quite a strain. I ended up borrowing a little bit, paying it back, then borrowing more, then paying it back. I was quite embarrassed asking everyone for help, so I went and took out a pay day loan. I have been paying $287.00 a month now for a couple months. On a $600.00 loan, and I still owe $500.00 on it! My financial situation: I can get by with a dependable, descent running, 4 door car for $3000.00, (I need something pretty dependable, as I have the grandbaby every night) I need to pay off this pay day loan, and an extra few hundred dollars in my account to pay some other small bills that are accumulating. I am a descent, honest, hardworking woman. I do make good money, I've just had an awful lot of obstacles hit me at once. I do not want to get farther behind and I know I could be in a real good position in a few months, if I could just get a hand getting there.
