<span id="ctrlDescription_ctrlDescription_l">It is often said that lenders are more
than willing to loan money to somebody who does not need to borrow
money. I can say, without a hint of ego or mendacity, that I do not
need to borrow money. I do, however, need to build credit. I was a victim of ID theft before ID theft was popular. As easy as Federal statute says that it is to fix identity theft, I have had difficulties. I currently have a cable bill and an electric bill in collections from an address that I have never lived at. Sure, the balances of these two accounts are only $300, but, out of principle, I refuse to pay them. I am not being ornery, I am just being reasonable. Finally. I paid several thousand dollars to collectors to make them go away. I am not looking to recover those costs, and, because they were paid willingly, I lack the recourse to do so. On these last two accounts, however, I am planning litigation. Lawyers are expensive, for sure, though. I make a decent living, and have very few debts, so paying a lawyer would not be difficult. Paying a lawyer out-of-pocket will not help my credit reating, which, as you can see, really needs all of the help that it can get. My other option, which I suppose that I could explore, would be a 100% secured loan from my credit union. It would help my credit, sure, but because it is a secured loan (and reports as such), it would not have the same benefit as an unsecured loan from investors on this site. To my potential investors, I thank you for having read my manifesto, and hope that you can see that I am a well-educated, productive, mature, and responsible investment. Also to be noted is that, because I live in Suckerchusetts, I can't borrow any less than $6001. Would that were not the case, my request would have been for $600 - two federal filing fees, and service upon two defendants. -B- |
