Purpose of loan: I love the idea behind Prosper. I started with Prosper over a year ago with a small loan to see if community-based lending could really work. I've made my payments on time and am happy to see the interest go to lenders in the Prosper community. This loan will be used to pay off a personal line of credit that I have, and to lock in a fixed, lower interest rate. My best friend doesn't believe that the Prosper community can offer better terms than our local credit union, so help prove me wrong. I intentionally started with a very high interest rate so I could demonstrate to him the efficiency of the bidding process within Prosper. My financial situation: I have made more than $150,000 per year over the past several years and continue to advance my career and earning potential. I have always paid my bills on time and have an excellent credit history. Two years ago, my checks were stolen from my office and used at several department stores and supermarkets in our area. I have been able to clean up nearly all of the impact from this on my credit report, but occassionally the invalid 'past due' collections accounts are sold to new companies, and I have to go through the whole dispute process again. I believe that's why I show up as a "B" instead of an "A" here on prosper. When I checked my credit score recently, it was above 725 with 2 out of the 3 credit agencies. I would be happy to provide documentation of the disputes to any lenders that are interested. Monthly net income: $ 14,750 Monthly expenses: $ 8,135 Housing: $ 4,200 Insurance: $ 300 Car expenses: $ 360 Utilities: $ 110 Phone, cable, internet: $ 90 Food, entertainment: $ 475 Clothing, household expenses $ 500 Credit cards and other loans: $ 1,600 Other expenses: $ 500 |
