Purpose of loan: I paid several medical bills with credit cards. I used a Prosper loan earlier this year to consolidate some of them. I still have a few outstanding medical bills that are demanding payment by the end of the year. I don't have credit left to pay them with my credit cards. A second loan from Prosper would be a blessing. I'm trying hard to finish the semester and the calls are adding a lot of stress. My financial situation: My credit rating is poor, but I do make make all my payments. (Sometimes late, but always within 30 days. I have two payments right now that I'll pay when my paycheck is deposited tomorrow.) I'm living as cheaply as possible and putting everything I have into paying off debt. I'm in graduate school. I'll finish my PhD next May (2008). At that time I'll be able to get a good job. In the meantime I'm teaching as an adjunct and tutoring students. The good news is that I have two potential employers starting in May. That will double my income plus I'll be able to continue adjuct teaching and tutoring. I just have to make it until May and things will turn around. During the four weeks between semesters, I will be working a seasonal job. That plus the this loan will put things back into balance. My monthly budget: Mortgage/rent: $350 (I have a roommate.) Insurance: $0 Car expenses: $0 (no car) Utilities: $60 Phone, cable, internet: $40 Food, entertainment: $100 Clothing, household expenses $50 Credit cards and other loan payments: $1400 (minimum, I try to pay a little more) Other expenses: $100 (books, my tuition is covered by grants and scholarships) --------------------------------------- Total monthly expenses: $2100 |
