Purpose of loan: I'm back in school and finishing up a new degree. This loan is to payoff this last semester so I can graduate. My financial situation: I'm a software developer who recently returned to school to pick up some extra earning potential; I've been a self-employed contractor for three years, and I recently picked up a government job (with very flexible hours) which will keep me gainfully employed for the foreseeable future. My base salary is ~50k, and I pick up extra jobs on the side, depending on how much spare time the university allows me. I'm a current lender and previous borrower on Prosper; I discovered upon applying for the previous loan that I was rated "HR", with a delinquent account which I had known nothing about. Unfortunately, it was quicker, easier, and probably cheaper to simply pay it off than it would have been to go through the process of getting it scrubbed, so I have a few remaining marks on my credit because of that. But I'm currently at "B", and improving, and can't complain too much about that. As with my previous listing, I have easily enough in my savings and investments to cover this loan amount, but I do not want to use those if I can avoid it. And as with my last listing, I plan on having this loan paid off well ahead of the 3-year schedule.
