This is my second loan on Prosper. I am about 50% of the way to paying off my current prosper loan ($3,700 remaining of original $6K loan taken out a little over a year ago). My original loan was used to fund other prosper loans. I am currently funding 70 loans on prosper with that money. I am looking to pay off a credit card balance of $6,300. My problem began when I had transferred an old credit card balance over to a new credit card hoping for the 1.99% introductory rate, but after they added in the transfer fee my final balance was over my allowed limit! My new rate is now 29.99% because I had gone over the limit! I am so angry about this deceptive practice that I am not going to give them another dime. My original loan request was for $6,000, but have reduced it to $4,000 in this listing in the hopes that it will be fully funded this time around. I can pay off the remaining balance with my cash reserves on hand. The rest of my savings are in CD's and stocks, which I do not wish to liquidate. Total liquid assets amount to about $35,000. I make $3,280 (after-tax) per month, and pay the following items monthly: Rent: $850 (includes heat, hot water, and electric) Internet and TV: $60 Cell Phone: $100 (family plan) Food: $200 Gas for Car: $150 Other Prosper Loan: $194 Income: $3,280 Expenses: $1,554 That leaves me about $1,726 per month to pay the new Prosper loan, which should be about an additional $130 per month.
