Purpose of loan: I was recently shocked when I saw that my Discover statement indicated at 29% interest rate! I've always paid before due, have excellent credit. I was looking to roll it over to a different credit card but was just annoyed each had a good interest rate for a short term. So I'm looking for something to pay off that debt with a nice fixed term. I decided not to refinance because of the housing market right now. Also the debt isn't high enough to warrant paying closing costs on a refinance. My financial situation: I have been on my job for 5+ years, have 37% equity in my home, contribute monthly to my 401K. In the last year I have worked diligently and reduced my personal debt by 12K. This is just another step in that process.
