Purpose of Loan: This loan will fund the initial operating costs for Queer Control Records (QCR), a start-up non-profit corporation (510c3 status pending) that exists for the following purposes: (1)To promote lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and questioning (LGBTIQQ) music and musicians; (2)To sponsor special events involving the public performance of LGBTIQQ music and musicians; and (3)To provide musical education and instrument instruction for aspiring LGBTIQQ musicians. Unlike traditional record labels, QCR celebrates musicians. QCR fosters growth and strengthens ties within the LGBTIQQ community through the promotion and support of its musicians. The label has already signed with four up and coming bands. Moreover, this loan will cover operating costs such as recording (studio rental, sound engineering, etc.), manufacturing (CD mastering, reproduction, etc.), and touring (airfare, van rental, etc.). For more information about QCR, please visit us online at http://www.queercontrol.com, or on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/queercontrolrecords. My Situation: As a young professional on a successful career path in the field of development and fundraising, I am a very responsible individual, and I am extremely knowledgeable about what it means to fulfill the obligations of a financial agreement and/or contract. In addition to serving as the Development Consultant for QCR, I am currently the Senior Development and Administrative Associate at New Leaf: Services For Our Community ? San Francisco?s only counseling center for the LGBTIQQ community. I have witnessed QCR's potential first hand. As a development professional, I am aware that funding for non-profits within their first three years is extremely limited. I am willing to take on the risk of acquiring a personal loan for the QCR, because I believe in what the label is trying to accomplish. Furthermore, my partner also has a full-time job working for a small business in San Francisco, and shares the commitment to QCR. We are in a financially stable and comfortable living situation. Monthly Net Household Income: $3,595 Monthly Household Expenses: $2,830 Housing: $900 Car expenses: $145 Utilities: $60 Phone, cable, internet: $200 Food, entertainment: $650 Clothing, household expenses $100 Credit cards and School Loans: $700 Other expenses: $75 Monthly Household Savings (Before Prosper Payment): $765 Monthly Payment on Prosper Loan ($12,000 at 15%): $415.98 Monthly Household Savings (After Prosper Payment): $349.02 |
