Where does one begin to explain how difficult things have been in a such a short space?  During the last 6 years, my family and I have endured many life changing events. Our first such experience came when our son was born in March of 2000.  The day he was born, our doctor told us that our son had a gap between his Esophagus and his stomach and that he would have to have medications administered at each and every feeding so that the acid in his system would not get to a level that could become harmful to him. At that time my wife held a very good job that paid well too. We had to make a conscious decision to either have our son in a day care or my wife would have to stay at home with him to administer his medications.  The daycare?s we checked into refused to give an infant medications, they didn?t want the responsibility.  So my wife made the choice to leave her job and stay at home with our newborn son.  The doctor advised us that this would at some point in time correct itself and that our son would lead a very normal life.  We had all of the financial resources in place, six months of savings for our new mortgage and a 401K plan through my employer.  So we figured we had a good financial backing to fall to if necessary.  Boy did we quickly find out just how that would be needed!   We were dead wrong!  Our mortgage was based on a duel income first of all, so with out my wife?s cash flow, we stumbled and stumbled very quickly.  Our cash reserves were gone in seven months and we had to dissolve our 401K plan to keep up.  Our son?s condition slightly improved as he got older, but not to the point where my wife could go to work. Fast forward a couple of years and we?re into 2004. A couple of career changes for me had occurred and money was again tight. We fell flat on our face and declared Chapter 13 bankruptcy save our home. As painful as that was, it was all we could do to keep the house we dreamed of and saved for. At the same time as all of this is happening my mother becomes gravely ill and spends over 200 days in an ICU at a prestigious Boston hospital.  In April of 2005, my world was forever changed as my mother, my hero, succumbs to her illness.  My mother was handicapped and therefore had no assets as she lived with my sister, and virtually no insurance. My sister and I were forced to cover her final expenses and that just took the wind out of my sails financially.  I could not pay my mortgage, the bills were mounting and all this time, I was not in a sound mental state, so I just gave up and let things fall where they fell.  Then in December of 2005, I am terminated from my Sales Manager?s position at the hotel I worked at.  How devastating the year 2005 had been! I?d consider it the single worst year of my life without question!   Now we?re into mid 2006 and my wife?s working and I?m working as well. We?re making a little more money than we were, and our son has flourished into a full grown 6 year old that plays sports like he was born to do so?who knows, maybe another budding Red Sox player here!  The problem is that our old debts are keeping us from moving forward. We?re working diligently with our mortgage company on a last gasp or desperation to keep the home, but if we don?t unload some of the old debt, we can?t afford all that we have.    So I ask for this funding so that a great family can get out of a bad place!  I want to be able to enjoy life again and move away from this pressure. I?m well aware that life does ?get in the way?, but it?s shoved me around long enough!  We need this by the end of June!
