Purpose of loan: My 16 year old car got me through college now it's time to retire it and purchase a new gently used car. I wish to purchase a 5 year old Honda Accord. The state capped rate that I am offering here is only slightly higher than what I have been offered by finance companies. I will save money by going through Prosper because I will not have to carry the higher insurance costs (I will fully insure the vehicle at higher deductible and state minimum limits saving over $100/month) and this will only be a 3 year loan term. I have $3000 saved which I will combine with the $7200 loan to buy the car. My financial situation: I graduated college and got married last year. My husband and I both have full time jobs and our monthly expenses are split so we each have about $500-$600 discretionary income every month. We are prepared for just about any unforeseen incident or emergency that may arise. My work has onsite medical clinic $6 co-pay per visit for all services, we also have 100% coverage for major medical. We are AAA road service members. We have an emergency savings fund, only slightly more than $5000 at the moment (need to start saving more of our expendable income). 10% of both our incomes go to our 401k's which we can borrow if a crisis were to arise. All credit accounts are covered by the optional job loss/disability/death insurance. All bills are on automatic Billpay through our bank account. We are both paid via direct deposit and we have a separate account for expendable income so we do not interfere with our monthly bill payments. I am adamant about keeping my credit perfect! I have seen how hard it has been for people I know with bad credit....I will never be in that situation! I am obsessed with my credit score...I am enrolled in Transunion's Truecredit 3 in 1 monitoring service. This one doesn't give me the month by month payment history for my Equifax report for some unknown reason so I am also enrolled in Equifax's Credit Watch service as well ....I pull my reports daily...I think it's becoming a bit of an addition :) Husbands monthly net income $2500Husbands monthly expenses $1933Housing: $670 Insurance: $0 (company pays) Auto Loan: $513 Motorcycle: $135 Credit cards: $15 ($452 balance)Car expenses: $200 (gas)Food, entertainment: $300 Clothing, household expenses: $100 Here are the bills I pay:My monthly net income: $1600 Monthly expenses: Currently $916 ($1170 after Prosper loan) Housing: $ 0 Shell gas card: $100 (carry $0 balance)Utilities: $67 Phone, cable, internet: $114 Food, entertainment: $350 Clothing, household expenses: $285 |
