Purpose of loan: I would like this loan to pay off the last of my debt that I accumulated on my credit cards during college. In the past year and a half, I've worked very hard to get my finances in order and have paid back over $10,000 in the last year alone. This loan will contribute greatly to my goal of achieving a debt-free future. My financial situation: I just started my first year of a PhD program in molecular biology at a top-tier university in Chicago, IL. I have a graduate fellowship that pays my tuition and pays me a stipend of just over $25,000 a year. While this isn't much money, I live on a well-planned budget (see below) and have little time to spend/waste my money on other things. I have been budgetting all of my expenses for just over 2 years and consistently have a budget planned for at least a year in advance (with a cushion worked in for incidentals and a savings acount for emergencies). Being on a charted course to rid myself of this debt in 3 years will give me great peace of mind. Monthly net income: $ 1700 Monthly expenses: $ 1332 Housing: $ 400 Insurance: $ 110 Car expenses: $ 262 Utilities: $ 50 Phone, cable, internet: $ 50 Food, entertainment: $ 300 Savings: $160 LEFT FOR PROSPER LOAN: $368 Since loan payments will be under $300, I should have no problems making the payments. Please notice that there's actually over $500 of income left each month since I put $160 into savings. |
