Purpose of loan: I will be using this loan to reinvest in Prosper. I recently started lending, and now want to experience Prosper as a borrower. I love the idea of person-to-person lending. This loan will allow me to lend more, and I relish the opportunity to help make people's dreams come true by lending them money. I believe that abundance is everyone's birthright, and I hope that through this loan I can make a small but meaningful difference in people's lives by lending them money. My financial situation: As you can see from my statistics, my financial situation is rock-solid. My credit is excellent and my DTI is extremely low. I've never been late on any payment, ever. I'm steadily employed at a University, having received a promotion about 3 months ago. I'm well-educated, with a bachelors degree in Communication (UCSD, 1997) and a Masters in Consciousness Studies (John F. Kennedy University, 2003). More than that, you can bid with confidence because I'm meticulous with my finances. About ten years ago, I used the principles of the book "Your Money or Your Life" by Vicki Robin to track every cent that went into or out of my life (that was initially a big eye-opener when I did that right out of college 10 years ago). Quicken has been a great tool for me, and I make it a point to sit down twice a month and review my finances. Monthly net income: $ 3,100 Monthly expenses: $ 1565 Housing: $ 675 (my girlfriend and I split rent on a $1350 apartment) Insurance: $ 105 ($80/month in Car Insurance plus $25 a month in renter's insurance) Car/Transit expenses: $ 75 (my car, a 2002 Honda Civic, is paid off. I figure $45 for my monthly transit pass and $30 for gas) Utilities: $ 35 Phone, cable, internet: $ 100 Food, entertainment: $ 200 Clothing, household expenses $ 75 Credit cards and other loans: $ 50 Other expenses: $ 200 This Prosper Loan: $50 (or less) I'm pretty thrifty, and like to find good bargains! So I keep my expenses low. I take public transit to work, and only use my car on weekends for the most part. Summary: Integrity is extremely important to me, so paying back this loan as promised is also extremely important to me. This is as close to a sure thing as it gets (as you can see from my excellent credit history). Moreover, I'm excited about using this loan so that I can, in turn, lend money to make a difference in people's lives. I'm starting out with a very fair initial rate (11%) for the amount of the loan and my AA credit, and have confidence that people will see the value in funding my loan. Thanks for taking the time to read my listing, and bid with confidence! |
