Trying to experience the borrowing side of Prosper. I will pay this off at 3 months. Consider joining GEIG.
Purpose:
- Working the Lender side, experience the borrowers side. As a lender with Prosper, I have over 150 loans out with an additional 40 bids being verified by Prosper. I am averaging a safe interest rate of 15%. I choose my loans carefully, making sure to diversify bids accordingly (AA-HR).
- Lots of help too lots of people. At a point in my life, I needed the help and didn't get it. I would love to bring hope to good people stuck in a rut spinning there wheels on high-interest loans.
- Credit Score. I have the credit but the ding (see Credit Issues below) from 2002 is hampering my credit score and grade (B). It may also be the lack of open accounts.
Financial Situation: My wife (10 yrs GS-14) and myself (20 yrs GS-14) are U.S. Govt Employees with many degrees and all that blah.
While creating this listing, Prosper stated I was to list only my income. Blah! Combined we are bringing in shy of $200k annually. Explain credit issues: - Public record from divorce in 2001. Chapter 7 bk, discharged 09/2002
- 3 Credit Inq's: I applied for mortgage with 3 different lenders for investment property in Branson, MO.
Monthly Income: - Myself - $5801.60
- Spouse - $7702.00
- Child Support required from ex-wife; no payments since Jan 2007. This is a joke and we don't count on it monthly
Monthly Expenses (shared): - Housing: $1900 (Almost 200k equity in home)
- Insurance: Health - $450 Life - $75 (2 policies) Pet Health - $35
- Auto: No payments owed on 2002 SUV, 2006 Van, 2006 Truck
- Utilities: Internet, Phone, TV - $165
- Food & Entertainment: Family of 5 plus dog
- Clothing & Household expenses: Eat out here and there, shop Walmart & Target most of the time
- Credit Card and Other Loans: Lowes $3006 (12 month no-interest charge)
Additional Info: We normally don't hold balances on any of our credit cards unless we get a no-interest deal. Usually from Lowes and/or Home Depot.
I would offer more than 11% on a loan but the State of Virginia has this as a max rate. I know it's not an eye popper of an interest rate, but if you continue to watch my listings or maybe join my group GEIG (NO FEE'S), you will see I am not here today, gone tomorrow.
Thanks for looking.< |
