Purpose of loan: My wife is an oboist and plays in 3 orchestras in our area. She would like to buy an English horn in order to have more opportunities for gigs and to be able to play more parts in her orchestras. (An English horn is like an oboe, except bigger, so anyone who can play the oboe can also play the English horn.) My financial situation: I have been employed as a software engineer for 14 years (as a senior engineer for 9), with a current salary of $95,500/year. I pay my debts promptly and have never dealt with bankruptcy, repossession or defaults on loans. My wife works writing content for web pages. NOTE: An earlier version of this listing had our income as $7000/month; this has changed due to my wife's new job. There is one small delinquency on my credit report, which I will explain. What happened with the delinquency was that we had a car loan to pay for our Toyota. My wife and I were careless a few times, and each of us thought that the other had made a payment; this cascaded and resulted in us being behind one payment for about 2-3 months. We cleared up the misunderstanding and put the account on automatic withdrawal, and haven't had any trouble since then. Most of our accounts are on automatic withdrawal now.
