Hi,I'm a 22 year old engineering student looking to completely remove my "student" credit card balance. 2 years ago, I opened up a student visa, looking forward to building a solid credit background for the future when it came time to buy a car or mortgage my first house years later. I have always payed my bill on time, every time. However, the balance kept getting higher and my credit limit kept getting raised. Now my monthly minimum payments sit around $130 and about $90 is going to interest and fees alone with $2500 remaining to pay off. Needless to say, this is not what I had in mind, paying corporate America through he nose. Prosper.com looks to be an awesome idea, and I have great feeling about paying my debt off to ordinary citizens like you and I, it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I currently work 2 jobs while attending school. One is as an IT tech for the largest law-firm here in Savannah GA and I bring in around $875 every two weeks after taxes. My other job consists of doing home computer repair and PC building at $45 an hour. My debt to income ratio before this loan is 14%, and I will continue to have a steady cash flow up until grad school in 2008. I have no problem paying off a loan or credit, but when 75% of what you are paying is interest and fees alone, it gets frustrating. Thanks for reading, and happy lending! :) |
