Grade: D DTI: 8%
Lender Rate: 17% Borrower: edpensionguy

Funded: 0% Group: (No Group)
Purpose of loan:
I have a credit card that recently raised my rate to 27%.  I would much rather pay a more reasonable interest rate to the individual lenders here than pad a bank's bottom line.  I came across Prosper by chance and thought I would give it a go.  This money would allow me to pay off and close that card.  The Prosper loan payment is the same as I am already paying to the bank, so it would mean no new money out of my pocket.

As to my credit score, there is some inaccurate information on my Experian report.  I pulled my report a couple of days ago.  I will be disputing those inaccurate items.  I did have a couple negative items that are legitimate.  However, the negitive things that have dampered my score occurred over 5 years ago when I ran into some difficulties.  The reason that my score is not higher is that a factoring company recently bought those old charged off debts and listed them on my reports as new items.  All the negitive information will fall off by July 2009.

My financial situation:
I am a civil servant employee of the State of California, which is as close to guarenteed job for life as you can get.  I have almost 10 years in various positions.  I am getting a 3.5% pay raise in July and possibly a promotion, so my income is only going up.  I have lived in the same place for 8 years, so I am in a very stable position.
