Purpose of loan:
I am trying to get a lower interest rate on a current balance of a credit card. They actually increased my rate even though I pay more than the minimum amount every month, and have not added any new charges. I am trying to get this loan paid off as quickly as possible so that I can stop paying the interest and use that money to save and invest more.

My financial situation:
I am currently a graduate student in seminary and living with my parents, so my living expenses are very low. I am also working full-time, with a steady income. The company I work for reimburses me for tuition expenses, so my school expenses are also low. During my undergrad I got into some trouble with credit card debt, but I have been on a loan repayment schedule for the last four years. All of my creditors lowered my rates to 10% or below, except this one. This month, I paid off the first two accounts, and would like to speed up that process. It's a wonderful feeling.

The delinquencies on my credit are from the date that I first entered the repayment program. The payment schedules will not be updated as current until the accounts are fully paid off.I have been on a solid budget for the last few years, putting money aside, and paying off my debts. I plan to continue paying more than the minimum amount on this account so that I can pay it off faster. A lower interest rate would help with this. My goal is to be debt free by the end of the year. It's a stretch, but possible. Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal.
