Purpose of loan: I need to consolidate my high-interest consumer debt and cut up my credit cards so I can start putting money aside to help with my children's college expenses. My financial situation: I have a steady job in growing company and industry (group insurance). I own my home and am able to comfortably pay my mortgage, taxes and insurance. My only financial problem is my consumer debt load, which doesn't allow any room in my budget for savings. My credit is B grade due to a couple of store credit cards that I don't even use any more and a cable bill that was sent to collection - an error that I am disputing. Here are my current debts: Mastercard: $3000 Discover: $3400 Amex: $3600 HSBC: $5500 Monthly net income: $3800 Monthly expenses: Housing: $1200 Insurance (home and auto): $100 Car expenses: $250 Utilities (gas, electric, water, garbage): averages about $250, depending on season Phone, cable, internet: $250 Food, entertainment: $700 Clothing, household expenses: $200 Credit cards and other loans: $700 Other expenses (HOA dues): $100 |
