First of all, thanks for taking the time to check out this listing. This is my first experience with Prosper.com and I'm hopeful that the outcome will be favorable.

I'm currently a 23-year-old third-year university student pursuing my degree in Graphic Design, though I've been fortunate enough to have been employed for almost three years as a designer at a well-known company based in Orlando, Florida. I still want my degree to enhance my credibility and help round out my education and experience. Now that I'm nearing the degree finish line, however, I believe it's time to begin pursuing a wider degree of freelance design opportunities. In order to do that, I'd like to upgrade my equipment to keep myself on the cutting edge of technology and to increase my efficiency. I'm also establishing a company identity under the name Studio 42 Design, the logo for which can be seen as the listing image.

Currently, I'm working on a Mac Mini, which was a cheap and smart option when I bought it more than a year ago. However, it's storage size and processing power are not enough to sustain design software and my recent excursions into video editing. Now I'm going to take the plunge into Mac Pro, the top-of-the-line desktop machine produced by Apple. In addition, I'll need to update my software to work with the newer processors installed in the Mac Pro and, finally, I'd like a real computer chair. Right now, I sit in a folding metal chair that is not at all conducive to working at home.

My financial situation:
My credit is outstanding but, because I'm a student, that is a result of my single current credit line. I have never applied for or received a credit card because I generally don't believe in spending what I don't already have. However, I believe it's about time I built up my credit and this seems like the perfect opportunity. As you can see from the budget outline below, I have enough income to manage the Prosper.com loan payment as well as pad myself in case of any emergency situations.
