I am 28 years old , single and a full time father of a six year old son. I have been with my current employer for 3 years and a police officer for 6 years. I have recently been promoted to an investigator. Also my past deliquencies listed by Prosper is down to only 800.00 now but it has not reflected in my credit file yet. I have paid those accounts off and the only delinquency there is over three years old.I am responsible with my finances but several years ago I began a custody battle with my son's mother that cost me nearly $7,000.00. That may not seem like much but when it began on a starting cop's pay it was a fortune. That is why my credit is bad now. During that time I devoted all the money I had to legal fees neglecting my bills. The only thing that mattered was custody of my son. I gained custody one year ago and now its time to regain my financial freedom. Purpose of loan: I am asking for an oppurtunity to get my credit score back up to were it should be and have requested a smaller amount in the hopes that I can build some trust with the lenders on Prosper. 800.00 of this loan will go to pay off the remaining delenquencies on my account and the rest into savings. I am hard working and honest and am tired of being juged by my credit score! I will pay back this loan on time because I refuse to let those people who have put faith in me down. I have the monthly income to pay for this loan without being spread too thin. My financial situation: I am steadily employed and have been for almost seven years now. I make enough money to pay for this loan quite easily. Also I have recently started a side business detailing cars that first started out as a way of just making some extra spending money. With the bookings I have already made I should bring in around 400.00 extra in two weeks. I decided now that I will take half of all my profits and begin depositing them in savings. This business literally has no overhead besides soap, water , and wax!
