Purpose of loan Our dogs both got ear infections at the same time and ran up a vet bill of $1800 before they were done! We opened a CareCredit account to cover the expense because we had to pay on the spot. CareCredit has a 90-days-same-as-cash option which reverts to a 23% APR after that. This seems like a perfect time to try out Prosper from the borrowers? side! (I have been exploring the lending side of things for a couple of months now). The additional $2200 is to pay off some credit cards that my wife has in her name from before we were married. Employment I have a BS degree in computer engineering and have been working as a software engineer for over fifteen years (including four years at Microsoft). I have been contracting through Ciber, Inc. for nearly a year, and I expect to be with them for some time to come. Ciber pays for ?bench? time, so even if I got stuck between contracts (not likely given the current job market!) I would still receive full pay and benefits. Financial Situation My monthly net income from my base salary is $6K. This does not include occasional overtime or my wife?s income. My monthly expenses total about $5,200. As you can see I have room in my budget to take on this loan without any trouble at all. I always pay my bills on time, and I take my financial obligations seriously. |
