Purpose of loan: I need the money to pay off a car lease that matures on 5/27/2007. Payoff is about 12,100 and there will be some tax on top of that. The vehicle is in excellent condition and I'm excited about buying it. My current lease payment has been 340/mo. for the last 4 years, never late. This loan is replacing one I'm already used to paying but my lease is expiring and I need this car. Prosper will allow me to pay the car off in 3 yrs with a slight increase from my current payment but a difference I'm more than comfortable with. My financial situation: The Mortgage on my credit is for a house that is currently leased and managed with positive cash flow. Also, I had a chapter 7 bankruptcy that discharged 8/2003. The bankruptcy was a result of changing careers to get out of my 100% commission job as a mortgage broker. For the last four and a half years I have been working as a contractor for several residential title companies throughout Colorado. Now my pay consists of a base salary plus commission and my finances are now in control. I have never been late prior to or since my BK, I was just in over my head with way too much debt from making 100% commission in the mortgage industry. I should also note that I am currently a lender on Prosper with 74 loans originated to date. I am very happy with prosper from a lender standpoint. I have moved since my last listing and now my rent is even less than before.
