I am a 30-year-old female living in Illinois. I am employed as a Juvenile Detention Officer for the County I live in. I make a salary of a little over $30,000 a year. In addition to working full time, I help take care of my 51-year-old mother, who was diagnosed with Invasive Inflammatory Breast Cancer. This cancer has spread from her right breast to her left breast, to her lungs, her liver, her kidney, and her throat. She endured a mastectomy of her right breast in November 2006 and she regularly attends chemotherapy sessions to help keep the cancer from spreading.
My mom is unable to work due to her battle with cancer, and my father was hospitalized in August 2005 and underwent heart valve replacement and bypass surgery. This was his second heart surgery; he had his aortic artery rebuilt in 1996 due to an aneurysm. My father is 71 years old and also unable to work due to previous heart problems and other medical conditions. I do the best I can to help out with their household, living, and medical expenses. They have insurance, but it is close to being maxed out and it pays out at 50 to 80% which doesn?t quite help that much. I want to help them in any way that I can since I am their only child.
Seeking a Loan:
I am seeking a loan to pay off some of my own credit cards and other expenses at a lower interest rate than what I currently pay. This would help me pay off the amounts faster.
I have some delinquencies on my credit report, but I am working with an attorney to resolve this matter. I did not open the accounts and my attorney has confirmed that at least 3 of the creditors involved cannot produce a credit application signed by me. In the last year I have raised my credit score to a C, it was much lower. My attorney advised me to open several accounts and pay off the balances or pay the payments on time to help raise my credit score.
$1800 Net Income (base w/ out overtime)
$ 305 Rent & Shared Household Utilities
$ 377 Car Payment
$ 85 Car Insurance
$ 30 Cell
$ 50 Gas for vehicle
$ 50 Eating out, movies, etc.
$ 75 Contribute to misc. household expenses & supplies
$ 200 Groceries, Clothing & Other personal spending (often this is lower)
$ 250 Debt Payments (replaced by Prosper loan, sometimes pay more)
$ 378 Remaining, plus occasional overtime (Used to help parents)
With Prosper Loan$378 + $250 (Debt Payments) - $182 (Prosper Payment) = $446 Remaining
Additional $68, set aside to start an emergency fund
Accounts I will consolidate with the prosper loan:
Credit Card 1: $451.12 at 18.40%
Credit Card 2: $867.03 at 27.90%
Credit Card 3: $1066.05 at 23.99%
Credit Card 4: $977.15 at 24.95%
The remaining $732.26 (approx.) will go toward my mom?s electricity and hospital bills. My credit card debt is the result of helping with my mom?s medical bills. The family does have plans in place for a cancer benefit in July. So overall the financial situation should improve. In the meantime, I help them financially. Tha
